If tennis is your game, our seven clay tennis courts are ready to serve you. Because tennis is a lifetime sport, our tennis program includes special events and programs for players of all ages, and all ability levels.
All I’On Club teaching professionals are USPTA or PTR certified and offer private and group instruction. The club enters teams in local and USTA leagues for beginning through advanced-level players.
The I’On Club tennis program is a recipient of the prestigious United States Tennis Association Tennis Facility of the Year Award.

Director of Tennis / Director of Player Development
Will is a graduate of the College of Charleston with a major in physical education. During his time at the college, he was a member of the nationally ranked men’s tennis team. Will was awarded his Masters of Sports Leadership degree at Northeastern University in December 2016 to enhance his skills in building the best program for juniors and adults. Will started coaching juniors and collegiate players in Charleston, SC in 2005. This eventually lead him to become a travel coach, advisor, and spring partner for the former #1 doubles team (Huber and Raymond) on the WTA Tour, and again as a WTA Professional Touring Coach for a former Wimbledon semifinalist and top 20 world ranked player (Stevenson). After touring, Will coached the high performance junior’s academy at high altitude in Boulder, CO at the premier Rocky Mountain Tennis Center. Will has been working with both juniors and adults here at the I’On Club for the past two years.
Senior Teaching Professional
Chris Kiesel is originally from Louisville, KY. He spent ten years at Family Circle, and during five of those years he served as Director of the Advanced Junior Program for tournament players between the ages of 8-18. Most recently, Chris was the Assistant Coach of the Charleston Southern University Women’s Tennis Team.
Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the College of Charleston and a Master’s in Business Administration from The Citadel. He lives with his wife, Katherine, and their two daughters, Nora and Hadley. Besides tennis, Chris enjoys fishing and cycling.
Mehdi was born in Paris, France and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. He played junior tennis at Ottawa’s famous Rideau Tennis and Squash Club. Mehdi was an active athlete, earning a starting position in every high school discipline he pursued, including soccer, volleyball, basketball, Olympic handball, badminton and track and field. After studying journalism in college he moved to Myrtle Beach to begin a successful career with the town’s daily newspaper. He left the newspaper to become the assistant tennis professional at Prestwick Tennis and Swim Club in Myrtle Beach and a few years later, its Director of Swim and Tennis. Mehdi will bring extensive knowledge and experience to I’On Club’s junior and adult development and can sum up his tennis philosophy in three words: Care, Impact, and Performance.
